Homemade Granola

I always make my own granola for breakfast, I don't know why I used to think that it would be such a difficult thing to do, when it's actually really easy.  It saves money and I know exactly what I've put in it.  The kids love helping to make it (and of course helping to eat it too!)

Ingredients for Homemade Granola:

4 cups of oats (gluten free)
1/2 cup of mixed nuts
1/2 cup of mixed seeds
1 cup of desiccated coconut
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 teaspoon of cinammon
1/4 cup of coconut oil
1/4 cup of maple syrup / honey / agave brown rice syrup (optional)


Method:

  • combine dry ingredients
  • mix in wet ingredients (warm up coconut oil if necessary)
  • spread in thin layers on baking trays
  • bake at 150 C until golden (about 20 - 30 minutes)
